iPhone 4 with Jailbreak: How's the speed and battery life affected after JB?

How's the speed and battery life affected after JB? I'm considering jailbreaking but I want to make sure it's worth it.

To my knowledge that would depend more on what type of JB apps you install. If you want to play with things like 3G facetime calling or backgrounder (where apps truly run in the background), then I would imagine a shorter battery life. Otherwise, jailbreaking in and of itself is merely granting you root access to the phone. Don't see why that would adversely affect battery life.
