3G 3.1.3 to jailbreak

Hi.I am very new to jailbreak. I have a 3G and and 3gs. I want to jailbreak my 3g ( officially unlocked). Will this cause me to lose my unlock?
Also I am confused as to which is the best tool for jailbreak. There seem to be many out there. I apologize for the newbie queries.

No, you can never lose your unlock if it's official.

And dice you're on 3.1.3, there's only one jailbreak tool for that OS - Spirit.

Go to Spirit and download that application. You'll be jailbroken within a few moments.

Yup Spirit is the easiest for 3.1.3. Takes 30 seconds for a complete JB

Cripes! I have itunes 9.2 and apparently this wont do with 3.1.3 for Spirit. I need to search for 9.0

Its working fine for me, I got a 3GS with 3.1.3 jailbroken with spirit, using itunes 9.2.
