iPhone 3G OS 4.0 Jailbroken question.
I read somewhere either on tipb.com or engadget.com that if you change a little bit of the 3g OS 4.0 beta code or whatever the iPhone will be able to multi task. But the article said you can only change the 4.0 beta if you iPhone 3G is jailbroken.
So lets just say when the offical 4.0 comes out and I'm running a jailbroken 3G iPhone could I run multi tasking "apples" way of multi tasking, (not by using backgrounder or whatever its called) and use 4.0 enabled background apps?
What I'm saying is if 4.0 jailbreak finds away to run the offical apple multitasking could I use the new multi tasking apps, like the new Pandora, on my 3G phone. Or will the Pandora app know that I'm running 3G iPhone and not let use multitasking?
I like multitasking just not the way the jailbroken way uses it, it slows my phone and drains battery.

Nobody can say for sure how it will work at this point since there really aren't apps available in the app store that use OS 4.0 yet.
The jailbreak multi-tasking that was found, seems to work, but I have a feeling it too will slow your device down and drain the battery. It may not be AS bad as backgrounder, but you'll still notice the difference.

That's quite true, but I already have a plan. *chuckle*
See, my wife has a 3G with some scratches on the back. So, when te iPhone G4 is released, I was going to buy a white Apple backing for the 3G from directfix.com (she has black now but I'm going to convert it), and I'm going to buy a slightly higher capacity battery for the 3G and replace that too. The standard iPhone 3G battery has a 1120mAH battery (if I remember correctly) and thr 3G battery I'm going to get and replace is 1600mAH, so once I replace the back and the battery, I'll jailbreak and unlock this 3G and make it the best backup phone anyone has ever had. *chuckle*
But in reference to the question, I do believe that after 4.0 is released with the jailbreak, on the 3G, it will be an ultra simple hack to enable Apple multiasking on the 3G, but that yes, it will take up slightly
more battery than it would on a 3G[s], and that yes, it willslow the 3G down a bit more as well.
