3.0 iPhone 02 UK Jailbroken but Ok to update and use legit with Orange UK now?

Afternoon guys,

Well, I have been a happy jail broken ultrasn0w user for many months now. The only issue that I'm having at the moment is that my iPhone seems to have trouble connecting to my router of late. I'm not sure if it's a router issue or iPhone issue at this stage but I would like to upgrade to the latest Apple FW if possible - provided it doesn't brick my phone!!

Now that Orange UK has gone legit with Apple and are now a registrered carrier, can I now upgrade my FW through iTunes given that the phone used to be an 02 UK phone previously or is this going to brick it?

You would have to be an O2 customer to call to get the unlock code for the phone. If you were an o2 customer at one point with the iPhone you may be able to call them and still get the unlock. But just bc Orange has the iPhone now it hasn't changed the carrier that your device is locked to.

Well the Wi-Fi on my iPhone now appears to be working! How random! lol. Thanks anyway dude!!
