3G jailbroken with 3.0

Hey guys, a quick question, a friend of mine bought a 3g already jb and running the 3.0 firmware, I wanna help him but this is such an old issue that I don't even remember how.
Is there a way to enable mms without upgranding it to 3.1.3?
Is there a way to fix how his phone is not syncing with itunes?
Is there a way to fix the safari issues with 3g and wifi?

1) MMS was enabled as part of 3.0 - you need to enable it with your carrier
2) Does iTunes freeze when he plugs in his iPhone? Simple fix, delete the lock file usign WINSCP and then reload iTunes, you have to do it every time though

actually, with AT&T MMS was not enabled until well past 3.0. Was it 3.1?
