Where do you find production week/year?

I have never jailbroken my phone, but am curious about the process and have read a lot of very informative posts about the process. It's my only phone (no home phone) so i am pensive about trying to jailbreak it and if something goes wrong, then I'm kinda screwed. Anyway, on to my question...

Where is everyone finding the production date of their phone? I got mine in April of last year, and it's a 3g, but I couldn't tell you in what week/month it was produced. Is there somewhere on the phone system that I find that info?

You can find your serial by going to Settings, General, About. Use this link to get manufacture's date. The site is in Dutch but all you got to do is enter your serial in the field and hit enter. You'll get the info you're looking for in English.

thanks! So here is what I got:

Production year: 2009
Production week: 12 (March)

So based on that production date, if I jailbreak using blackra1n, then when I powerdown my phone, I won't need to tether jailbreak again, right?

I only have a 3G however from everything I've read, you should be safe because your phone was produced before week 40. You won't need to tether jailbreak.

Tethered jailbreaks only apply to the 3G.

So if I have an iPhone 3GS lets say from week 35, and I apply the Blackra1n, it will still be tethered?

Nope it won't be. It's week 40 and up
