Hello, I am new to this whole jail breaking process. My friends recently encouraged me to jail break it, and i've been thinking about it seeing as theres worked out perfectly.

My question is, what are the risks of jail breaking? For example, chance of brick or simply any chance of my phone malfunctioning completly? Also, lets say i get the error many people are getting such as the screen staying on black instead of showing the guys picture.Would I have to turn my phone off for it to work regulary or would that mess it up? Secondly, would the songs i have on my ipod disappear and is the jail break for iphone 3g tethered?
