Restoring iphone to factory settings---????

I'm having to restore mine due to some 'app dissappearance'.....It's going to take 70 minutes(or so it says), why? I thought they usually took just under 10 minutes?

The restore part is pretty quick, it's the syncing everything back in that takes awhile ie music, calendar and contacts that takes awhile.

Well why is the restoring part taking so long for me? I'm not trying to restore to back up?
