Iphone 2G 3.0 software Jailbreak

I have found instructions for jailbreaking and unlocking 3.0 firmware for a Iphone 3G, is this the same as unlocking 3.0 firmware on a 2G Iphone? I am new to the Iphone world, and am looking to jailbreak and unlock for Tmobile.

It is almost the same procedure but instead of unlocking though redsn0w as you would on a G2, you would unlock the phone though Cydia via a repo source (repo 666.ultrasn0w.com), there is a unlock package that you install, reboot your phone, then...your phone is unlocked

Or you could just run blackra1n to jailbreak, and then install blacksn0w from the blackra1n.app on your iPhone 2G, and simplify your life....

Yeah, that is why I suggested for him to unlock/jailbreak with redsn0w, BootNeuter gets installed and configured automatically after the last reboot of the jailbreak/unlock process.
