Don't know what to do

I think i have the original iphone since it has a silver casing on it. NOt sure of the firmware it uses and I need to jailbreak it. It's already unlocked since I can make calls with T-mobile but only in emergency mode. Will someone please instruct me on what I need to do to make this phone work the way it's supposed to?!!! This is driving me mad!!!!!!

go to settings, general, about, that will tell you the version you're running.

I can use my t-mobile sim now.and I have no controls on my phone to go to settings/general at all. I'm in emergency mode. what is bootneuter?
