blackra1n not working

i have blackra1n and am attempting my first run on a 3g with 3.1 firmware on it it goes through the steps but geohot doesnt show up on the phone then it goes into the not for sale prompt and etc.etc. but the phone gets stuck at reboot then i reboot manually and nothing has changed on the phone any ideas?

Make sure you're using RC2 of blackra1n and that you downloaded it directly from blackra1n .

I heard the 3Gs were kinda picky about blackra1n and you may have to run it numerous times.

k ya i heard that to about the 3gs but i was running a trail run on a phone my buddy has for sale at his store and it a 3g on 3.1 firmware i was told it didnt matter whether it was 3.1 or 3.1.2

It shouldn't matter about the 3.1 or 3.1.2, but GeoHot recommended 3.1.2.

cool cool k so im gonna put a custom ipsw on the phone w windows i gotta backup sync then put the iphone n dfu mode then restore and point it at the custom ipsw correct?

ya i have several ipsw from i clarified,i just have never used them exept w redsnow and was making sure those were the correct steps if i decide to do my 3gs but i am still going to continue to use blackra1n on the 3g i also have a 2g will it work on it as well 3.1.2 firmware
