FOR NEW IPHONE 3G[s] OWNERS WHO HAVE JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED YOUR PHONE (within the past week)
Do not jailbreak. You will screw your phone up. Apple has started shipping out new phones that block the exploit which allows jailbreaking.
The article is on TiPb. Read it. Seriously.

Can I go back if I need to?
If I do the blackra1n for MAC, can I go back if i need to take my phone in to ATT or Apple for some reason? I really want to give this a try but I am nervous. I have a 3gs that I purchased about a month ago. It is running 3.1.2 and has the most current baseband which I know takes away any unlocking at this point. Unlocking is not a desire, just the jailbreak which would allow me to run my slingbox over 3g. Thanks for any advise!
