Ipod Touch 1g 3.1.2

Hey, I was just wondering if you could actually jail break a 1g ipod touch on 3.1.2? I tried using blackra1n, but every time it would say 'done, wait for reboot' after the itunes symbol appeared, the screen would go black, with the backlight still on, and nothing would happen. I've tried reinstalling blackra1n and everything a whole bunch of times, but no dice. Thanks in advance
