Unlock my iPhone?

Okay, I am eligable for a $299 upgrade in about a month to the new iPhone 3GS. However, if I bought one, I would probably want to sell my current one.

Have I ruined the ability to unlock my iPhone since I have upgraded to the new OS? I know at one point I read something about not upgrading firmware if I wanted to unlock - but I didn't want to unlock it so I didn't worry about it.

Have I just cost myself the ability to sell my iPhone for $300 to $400?

Probably not, You can probably still get 400 for a 16GB, remember they are not just paying to use it on other carriers, they are getting it without a contract. It can still be unlocked with hardware via sim unlocker.

the Apple store in arizona selling the iphone 3g 16gb unlock for $350.00
guy side they are no longer going to sell the Iphone 3g 16GB.
so thinking apple try sell out the 16GB Fast so people are going to try to sell there iphone 3G on ebay but now i think it going to suck people wont want to pay $400 or more for a Iphone 3g see them sell for $80 to 200 on ebay
