Problems with applications

I hope someone could help me out. Y'see, I downloaded a few applications from the internet, they all appeared in iTunes. I don't know why I couldn't sync them into my iPhone, the message "The application 'xxxx' was not installed on the iPhone 'xxxx' because it could not be verified." So, then I thought I needed to jailbreak my iPhone so I could use them, so I did. When I try to sync the apps into it again, the same message appears.

Please help.
