I been checking the site out and it helped to convince me this is my next phone. I'm signed up with Tmobile. I would also like to know what are the cons about bringing the iPhone over to Tmobile.

Looking to get into the jailbroken iPhone scene. I have 2 options:

A 2G iPhone for 100 bucks

A 3G iPhone for 375.

What's the best choice?

Well you can't get 3g on tmobile, so you would be spending 275 for a GPS. Probably better off buying a real GPS and getting a 1st gen iPhone.

Thank you for the replies. I thought since they have similar networks, 3G would have worked for it.

Tmo's 3G network is different and the iPhone can't use it, iPhone on Tmo network is edge only.

Decision made then. Does the newer phone suffer in performance since it's running on a edge network?

Edge is like really really fast dial up compared to a cable broadband internet connection. Once you've gone broadband, it's hard to go back.

No, you just get better battery life when not using 3G. But i have to tell you EDGE is pretty crappy. That why I skipped the first get iPhone because it would be too slow for me to enjoy the internet on it, but if you are stuck on tmobile then I guess it's better than nothing.
