Hi all-
My unlocked first gen iphone was stolen last night. Bummer. I miraculously got my hands on another first gen for cheap, and now I need to unlock it. It is on firmware version 2.2. I searched around and it looked like quickpwn could do it for me, but I've just run through it and no luck. Still emergency calls only, different sim detected, though now it shows t-mobile as service provider.
What did I do? I upgraded my itunes to the most current, I downloaded quickpwn 2.2, both bootloaders and the iphone 2.2 thing, and followed the instructions listed here: iClarified - iPhone - How to Unlock/Jailbreak Your 2.x.x 2G iPhone Using QuickPwn (Windows).
Looking back at that, it looks like the instructions are for the 2nd generation, but I don't see any for 1st gen. I'm clearly out of my depth.
Any guidance/help/kicks while I'm down?
