can't use phone after jailbreak

I jailbroke my 3g phone running 2.2 firmware and was unable to use the phone, when I tried it just crashed back to the home screen after about 2 seconds, also when using contacts was unable to disconnect calls.
Anyone else had this problem or anyone know a fix for it

Try restoring the iPhone via iTunes and then rejailbreak.

If you jailbroke the phone with a custom ipsw, make sure activation was not checked if you are locked to a carrier.

it was jailbroke using quickpwn2.2

Try to get SBSettings from Cydia. Open it by swiping your finger accross the top status bar. Under the 'more' icon select 'Extras' then click on 'Fix user dir permissions'. This changes permissions on certain apps which may be causing the crashes after jailbreak.
