Clarification neede for 2G 2.2 jailbreak

I've got a 2G jailbroken iPhone on 2.1.

The question I haven't found an answer for is this: During jailbreaking up to 2.2, will I lose all my cydia and installer apps or does the file created and backed up / restored keep all this stuff?

You want to start over from scratch. If you carry stuff over it may work, but you are bound to have issues at some point. Take the time and do it right.

So apps I've paid for I'll have to buy again?

Paid App Store apps? No, those are stored within your iTunes account. Those will go no where. You will just have to sync them back over when you are ready.

I think he is wondering about paid apps via Cydia. I have purchased Intelliscreen and am able to activate it every time I upgrade. You should be able to do this with other apps as well. If not, your best bet would be to contact the developers.
