Default Dev Team: 24Kpwn lives on!

From their Twitter:

"Jailbreak. Unlock. Coming."

About 5 hours ago, we were able to verify that the 24Kpwn exploit that the hybrid team used on the iPod Touch 2G is still present in the bootrom of the iPhone 3GS. That means we can apply the same sort of technique used by our current redsn0w tool to jailbreak and unlock the iPhone 3GS.

This is great news!

For our technical notes on where the 24Kpwn exploit is in the 3GS, see here (pastebin hash of it is here).

And yes, ultrasn0w will be able to be run on the iPhone 3Gs for you unlockers!

Was just going to make this post here, but you beat me to it.
Excellent news for when I inevitably want to take my new 3GS overseas and use a local SIM card while abroad.

Just got done unlocking my old 3G via ultrasn0w- worked like a charm.

Nobody is more excited about this than me...well maybe a few. I cant wait. With the improved cpu in the 3gs, programs like winterboard, etc will run so much smoother. Although I am not into themes, its going to be sweet.

I just want my tmobile!
