iTunes Match - Not to play all songs I've purchased, why?

iTunes Match - Not to play all songs I've purchased

One time I tried iTunes Match but it wanted play songs of a genre I didn't want it to play. They were songs I purchased for my wife. I couldn't see how to avoid them. Any suggestions on how I do this if I sign up for this again?

I've never subscribed to iTunes Match, but hopefully, someone who has will reply soon.
