Try to download purchased album in iTunes on PC but keep getting log-in prompt

On a Windows 10 PC in iTunes 12.3.1.23 I am trying to download purchased music albums.
I initially sign in to iTunes with my Apple ID just fine. But when I click the download icon on any album the "Sign In to the iTunes Store" window keeps popping up. I carefully enter my password and it just pops right back up. Have tried multiple times with no luck.
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Reboot and try again or use the credentials that were in place when you initially purchased the album.
