iTunes Match uploading a previously matched song?

Okay, I had an issue with 1 matched album not showing album art on my iPhone and Apple TV. (Correct art shows on iPad, weird?)

I re-downloaded the album from the cloud, drug the files to a folder on my desktop, and deleted the album files and from iCloud.
I re-added the album. Now, a file that was previously matched is uploading when I add it back in. I find this extremely odd. Not odd enough that I want to drag my CDs out of storage to see if a fresh copy will fix it.

Why does iTunes Match work so strangely. I mean, I got this particular file from Apple!?
