Can't remove podcasts from iPhone 4

Ok so I downloaded a few podcasts onto my iPhone 4 while I was on the road this weekend. First time playing around with podcasts and they are very neat! Might be a feature I take advantage of more in the future. However, now I have a problem. I can't get them off my iPhone!

I got home yesterday and synced my phone with my Mac. Then I went into iTunes and deleted the podcasts that I no longer wanted. Then I resynced my phone. However, instead of removing them from my phone it just redownloads them to iTunes! I even tried going into the podcasts tab on my iPhone summary in iTunes and checking only the podcasts that I wanted on my phone. Still does the same thing! I just want to get rid of the ones I listened to but can't for the life of me make it work. Please help!

Nevermind! I figured it out. I never did get it remove them by syncing but I figured out if you swipe left across them quickly on the iPhone it will bring up a delete key.
