Being Charged to Re-download Apps

I recently re-downloaded previously purchased apps on both my iPad and iPhone, directly from the app store, and got billed for them. For example, I purchased both the iPad and iPhone versions of Scrabble a year or two ago and got billed when I recently downloaded them again. This happened with a couple of other paid apps too. I've never had this happen before. What's going on?

Are you sure you were logged on to the same AppleID in the iTunes store that was used to purchase the app in the first place?

Yes, I've had the same apple ID forever. It's really puzzling!

UPDATE: After really giving this a lot of thought, I realized I DO have two apple IDs! The one I've been using recently I had only used to purchase a few apps in the past. Apparently, when I logged into the app store after updating to ios 5, I logged in with that ID. But when I logged out of the app store and logged back in with the other ID just now, the bulk of my purchased apps suddenly showed up in the history. I FEEL SO STUPID!!!
