Updated jailbroken phone - Itunes asking for original sim . HELP!

Stupid me. Oh look its an update for the iphone. yay. download.
and now im facing the consequences.

So my iphone is the original 4gb model. It was on the 2.1 software (I think)
and jailbroken (by a friend, so I don't know how to jailbreak) . Now I can only make emergency calls and Itunes says it doesnt recognise the phone sim card and it cannot activate. I'm basically stuck.

Besides telling me what I did was stupid, does anyone have any other help to give me?

what carrier are you on??
sounds more like you were unlocked not just jailbroken.

i use tmo had the same problem until i unlocked and jailbroke using quickpwn
