I have an iPod Touch 5g and the screen has been cracked and missing a piece of the screen at the top. Ironically the iPod still works and the digitizer appears to work too. I can shut down, swipe to the right to unlock it, enter numbers, go in/out of Apps.
I know the digitizer lays below the screen so I don't think the digitizer has been affected so maybe the screen will need to be replaced.
I would like to repair it myself but I a not sure if I should purchase the screen plus digitizer to fix both or purchase only the screen. This would be my 1st time at repairing an iPod. Perhaps, I should not bother with repairing it and sell it as is on Ebay and buy another iPod.
