Why won't my iPod advance from 1 song to the next?

Ehy won't my Ipod advance from 1 song to the next

All of a sudden my Ipod touch won't advance from 1 song to the next automaticly. It will do it manually. What can I do to correct it??

Restart the iPod and try again.

My wife's iPod Nano seems to be doing the exact same thing. I believe that it has gone bust considering that a restart does not fix it and that the device itself has not had a firmware update of any sort. Perhaps it is Apple wanting you to buy a new player so the time bomb activated to mess up the firmware
