My friends iPod touch 5 Generation base no back camera has just shut off, and won't power on. No water damage. She had lost all her data since it wasn't backed up. She had said she was facetiming and the battery got really hot the night before and couldn't be touched last night, since it was so hot. She had kept it plugged in for 1 hour after it died. She said it's only use it for messaging, photos, and facetiming. It's out of warranty.
I believe it's a faulty charging port, faulty battery, or high battery cycle usage, or a faulty logic board.
Anyone run into this too?
