Ipod touch 5th Gen no music from rear car speakers

Hello, I have a Kenwood receiver in the car that works well with Sirius, etc. (front and rear speakers). Bluetooth is fine. Links up and plays my Ipod Touch 5th Gen well except only the front door speakers have music. So the fader on the head unit is OK. Any ideas on why the Ipod won't play music from the rear (door) speakers. '08 Kia Sorento all original. Head unit only change. Please respond asap and thanks....

Connecting via bluetooth? Does the radio have the ability to cable in? Have you tried that?

Thanks for the reply... By 'cable in 'did you mean the USB option? Would USB give me the rear door speakers?

Cable as in either USB or from the iPod's headphone port into the head unit.

I'll try the USB option later and will post the result. Really appreciate the interest. Thanks again...

Another thing to look into would be seeing if the head unit has any firmware updates available that you can install...

My wild-bleep guess is the Kenwood unit isn't seeing the iPod as a music player on the Bluetooth profile, and is treating it like a speaker phone instead...

Keith, it seems you are correct. I tried the USB option and get music from the rear door speakers as well. There is a firmware update for Pandora but I'm OK with that as it is. I wonder if the Bluetooth issue is unique to my Kenwood unit (KDC-X798) or if it's a common problem with car recievers. I do like this head unit though. You've been helpful and I like the imore forum. Thanks again and best in 2015... Steve
