ipod touch doesn't charge

I connect it to the charger and the charging sing appears on the screen but it doesn't charge.

I know it's an ipod touch but this is the best forum around for iphone/ipod related stuff imo.

Sounds like a hardware issue. Might be time to take it to the Apple Store.

Had the same problem once and had to take it an Apple store.

Best to try another cable / charger first, before taking it to an Apple Store. Sometimes fluff from your pockets can become trapped in the dock port preventing the charge cable from making a good connection - try taking a paperclip or pin and gently pulling at the inside bottom edge of the dock port to see if there is any pocket lint trapped inside.

I agree take it to Apple Store. Its definitely a hardware problem.

Definitely take it to the store first to see what they say, worst case they have cables on hand you can try before you buy a new one.
