Knowing your exact signal strength

No luck, just tried it again and every time I change the screen, be it an app or a new page in an app it reverts back to the numbers.

You may not be setting it right. You can set it temporary or where it stays put. I'll go find the directions.

OK, here. Read down far enough til you get where it says, "To always see the signal numbers...". That's the part I think you missed.

Oh no, I get the setup process to keep the signal strength numbers showing all the time. However when I tap the numbers to switch back to the dots it won't stay on the dots. Any screen change reverts it back to the numbers. The only way for me to keep the dots on the screen full time to revert the process.

I have no clue then. I have tapped mine to just see what happens a couple times. But leave it on the number the majority of the time. I checked it in late September after I restored my phone. I haven't tapped it since. Never a problem though.
