... as of now I am using an iPhone 7 plus. I would like to buy an iPhone SE 128GB as a backup phone. My only concern is the battery life of the SE: What are typical standby and usage times of your SE?

Hi there :)

The article below compares the SE to the 6s Plus, and says it's not quite as good, but it can't be with the difference in size, but still better than the non-plus 6s. So it's not gong to compare to the Plus but will still be good for a phone of that size.

Yeah the SE has nice battery life. I always get a day and some. I only get a little less than a day when I have really heavy use. I have had my SE since launch essentially. With iOS 10, battery has taken a hit for sure but it's still enough to get a day and maybe an hour or two.

You must not use your phone all that much with 45 hours standby time. The usage is what counts the most. It looks pretty normal to me. Almost 7 hours with 18 % left. You could've squeezed another hour or two in there. Even more if the standby time wasn't so much.

With 7 hours use on my 6s I don't have near the standby time when I hit 18%. I'll see how it does today and post a screenshot.

I received my SE about 2-1/2 weeks ago. It's getting pretty heavy usage, because (after all) it's a new device and I'm playing with it a lot :) ---- I charge it overnight and it starts the day at 100%. At the end of each day the battery is at about 30 to 40 percent. This is very similar to my Galaxy Note 4's battery life, but with a lot less usage.

That's only a 10 minutes difference. In the first you checked at 50%, the second at 49%. Mostly it's going to be what you do on the phone that makes a difference. It's going to vary some, regardless of which OS you're on. It looks fine to me. Don't get too caught up in worrying about battery. The main thing to consider are the 3 big users of battery. Location services, push notifications, and screen brightness.

I get around the same usage as @eespanol. Mine started off worse as well, but now I average 4 hours of usage before I am at 50%. A while ago, I use to be able to get to around 45 mins of usage before my percentage would drop from 100% to 99%. I think it was either 10.0.1 or maybe even iOS 10 where it would hover around 30 mins usage time before I would drop to 100%.
