New iPhone update and requiring code from other device to sign in

Hello well is it just me or since yesterday I haven't been able to download my apps without a trigger that states it needs a 6 digit code from my other device. I used to just be able to use my apple ID and now I need my other device. I don't have my iPad with me all the time.. What is this all about? Not very happy.. I am in two different locations and need to download it when I can not when I get home 6 hrs later.. Very frustrated..

Welcome to iMore! Did you recently enroll in two-factor authentication? It's located in Settings > iCloud > [your Apple ID] > Password & Security > Two-Factor Authentication. If you haven't verified your device that may be causing the issue.
You can also try going to Settings > iTunes & App Store, signing out of your Apple ID, then signing back in. That may stop the prompt as well.

That's weird. Once you've authenticated a device you should stop being asked to enter a verification code.
Try this: go to http://appleid.apple.com and add your iPhone as a trusted device. You should then be able to manage which other devices should be trusted and which ones need to be removed. More info in the link.

If you continue to experience issues I urge you to contact Apple Support. They can see things about your account that we can't and troubleshoot your problem much more efficiently than we can.

I can not get the code because Magic Jack does not support receiving messages like that. So I ignore those reminders.

Magic Jack would have nothing to do with this. Nobody was getting phone calls.
