It will also depend on upgrade eligibility. For example, if you're eligible to upgrade in June, you'll most likely pay the full subsidized cost. If you're available some time from now, you'll pay a higher subsidized price, about 100 bucks more or so. I forget who pays full price.

full price is for current customers who are not eligable for an upgrade due to lack of time with at&t or those who recently upgraded.

we have 2 iphones from a year ago and my wifes # says she is eligable 7/3/10 and my # says 3/3/11 WTF at&t? so i plan on getting the 1 new iPhone at least and the 2nd one in march of 11.

BrianT, if her line is the primary, then she'll be able to upgrade earlier than u. It's bc her line generates more revenue than urs so she's eligible earlier for an upgrade.

Over here in the UK, O2 and Carphonewarehouse are apparently stating to customers that the new iPhone will cost in the region of ?899 for a Pay As You Go handset!! This compares to ?450 and ?550 for the current 3GS models.

Hopefully, this is just them trying to scare people into buying 3GSs now so that they can shift remaining stock

As far as price points go, I was really surprised when the new iPhone prototype leak pics came out with the back labeled "16 GB". I really thought they'd increase memory. So maybe in an effort to stick with their price points they'll have 16GB at 199, 32GB at 299 and then maybe 64GB at 399? I dunno, but I hope so, 32GB isn't gonna be enough for me if they have HD video recording. I'll blow through 32 GB pretty quick.

DoubleM, I used several HD camcorders with 4GB SD cards, and I honestly never found myself running out. 32GB is plenty.

I don't think Apple will go to a $399 price point. It's too expensive. There's no room to put more storage in the phone though, so we may have to wait another year for the chip tech to increase enough for 64GB iPhones... Also, there's ZERO industry pressure on the iPhone in terms of internal memory.. Seriously.

You should qualify, if 3GS customers would qualify with your same price plan, then yes you will qualify as well.

same as last year..no mistery here...

Its gotta be at 199 for the smaller version of gb iPhones and 40 bucks more or something for the bigger version of gb iPhones. Hence...same thing as last year..;)

it's never been "40 bucks more", it's always $100 more. Kind of ridiculous but they have to differentiate enough that people will still buy the smaller capacity.

I believe price points are going to be set as

$199 for the 16Gb
$299 for the 32Gb
$399 for the 64GB

That just seems like the right set of prices for the phones.
of course they will be $100 more for the Early Upgrade Price.
