I am going to start a blog as a hobby, what is the best app/blogging platform compatible for the iPhone. I prefer cross platform but open to iOS only/web.

Wordpress[/URL], available in the iTunes store. Will do what you need.

I second the Wordpress suggestion. You will obviously need a place to host it. Wordpress.org can host it, or you can install it on your own host. Many domain/hosting providers have Wordpress as an installable package already.
