Any apps similar to Jotter Pad or Regularly?

Hey, I am actually waiting on my iPhone 6s+ to be shipped and it's my first iDevice since owning click-wheel iPods (which I miss dearly), but there are two apps that I don't think I can be without.

I write and tend to use the app Jotter Pad to write down short stanzas or lines as the come to me and am grateful for the Dropbox sync. Is there any app that does the same thing as Jotter Pad or at least comes close? Will the notes app be enough?

The other app I mentioned in the title is an app I use to pretty much mark irregular tasks, that need to be done every (x) days. It also keeps a log of the past times you have done it. Is there anything like this? I used to use Any.do ages ago but I do not know about paying for it now, just for the only feature I will use while the rest go to waste.

Thanks I am checking it out on the App Store, I already have apps chosen and I don't even have the phone yet. I am excited and impatient.
