yeah no kidding. I downloaded crystal yesterday. haven't been online much. Peace seems to have great reviews- think it makes sense to have more than one ad blocker or is it just overkill

One is probably fine. Peace is from Marco Armant who has always made great apps. So I picked that one to support him.

Crystal is only 99? though!

I've got peace as well and I agree about how it performs. Has made some sites (cough, IMDb, cough) enjoyable to browse again. Now, going there is almost like having an 'instant on' without having to wait for all of the content (adware) to load - especially over my cellular connection.

His reasoning for pulling the app is pretty vague.
Was it blocking ads to aggressively (working too well) or was it a difference of opinion on implementation between himself & Ghostery?

I'm keeping it as long as it works or I find a better one. I don't begrudge anyone who has to make a living but ads today are just overboard. Now I'm not sticking up for iMore but if you report a bad ad they do what they can so I will continue to go here without blocking. If you help me and you take care of your readers then that's different but if you don't care then you get blocked or better yet I won't even visit your site.
