I just updated to the beta version released today and you're right. The chat option brings up the message/PM screen, unlike the previous beta.

I think it's supposed to be the PM function. The mail icon is gone.

If you mean we no longer appear to have our comments associated with quoted replies, you're right. I'm currently in a couple of PM conversations and each reply does not quote the previous replies.
