Instagram notifications

Good evening all. Do you use Instagram? If so, does notifications work on iOS8, in particular just the badge icon?
I have it set to badge on,y and I don't get notifications. I set on all the options and still don't get notifications.

Instagram only shows a badge when you receive a new direct message.

Banners and notification center notifications work good for me. But sometimes they either work well or they don't at all. Kind of hit and miss.

Instagram's notifications aren't the greatest, you are better off looking for banner and Notification Center notifications from them rather than badges
