I noticed the other day that several of my apps that I commonly use had not been updated so when I looked in the app store from when I got them ( They were free at the time ) now cost for them which makes me thinks unless I purchase these apps now the ones I have won't work. If it were you would you buy a few for testing, All of them or delete them?

If you're saying your free app has been removed from the App Store and replaced with a paid app, I would continue to use the free one as long as it worked ok. But as soon as it started to go south, then I'd get the paid one. I had an app quit working after iOS 7. It became a new paid app. Instead of buying it, I found another free one by the same Dev that offered what I used. I end up with paid versions mostly. But I do have a few free ones that are great. Are those apps still in your purchased list? If so, do they show when you tap on them? If not, then they've been removed.
