Facebook App won't let me check in

Need help how to get this going again, I tried almost everything to reset this damn phone and still end up with the same answer.

After updating to ios 6 on my 4s, when I try to check in on facebook no places show up anywhere. Yes location services are turned on. - Facebook Help Center | Facebook

Found this and I'm not the only one having this problem

Where are you trying to check in at? Maybe you should start adding places and name the world like you want it to be named. Then everyone is asking in your facebook feed: "Where is this at?" I didn't know we had Putt Putt Golf in town!

One problem is due to HTML use with UIWebViews but without support for Nitro, which is Apple’s JavaScript engine.
Another, the app makes different data calls, but out-of-sync information.
