Why couldn't you simply connect a car charger when you drive around if it was going to be used for a long trip?

App designed to minimize battery drain

We did think about this when we developed the app. Even though the app uses location services, its pretty frugal with your battery. It doesn't use GPS unless you plug into power, and it stops anything in the background if the battery falls below 30% charge.

yes, It always makes sense to not use the battery anytime you don't have to.
