What's the difference?

What advantages if any are there when re-downloading an app from the apps store versus downloading from Updates/Purchased section?

It just seems cumbersome to me to go to purchased section and much quicker to search for the app in the store itself which tells me whether I previously bought the app or not by indicating "Price" or "Install".

Please share how you use this feature.
