Power App today is pleased to introduce HitIt 1.0 for iOS, their new Whack-a-Mole speed touch game, which allows players to substitute any face for that of the rabbit that pops out of the hole. There are a total of four different holes, and at lower levels of play, rabbits quickly pop out and then back in one hole at a time. At higher levels, rabbits may pop out of two, three, or four holes, simultaneously. Players must quickly touch the rabbits wherever they pop up, which activates a large mallet that whacks them back down. Advanced players may touch the screen with two or more fingers at the same time, allowing high scores but risking multiple misses. Each level displays the minimum number of required hits to complete the level, the maximum allowed misses, and the number of seconds available to complete the level.
A simple, multi-touch speed game, HitIt is extremely well executed. Beautifully rendered 3D rabbits pop up, quickly sniff the air and shake their ears, and disappear back into their hole with a blur of animation. Mallet strikes produce fading stars flying into the air, as rabbits are knocked unconscious.
Lower levels give the player an opportunity to develop their skills, allowing 50 seconds to successfully whack 20 rabbits with 10 misses allowed. At higher levels, the pace increases significantly, as does the degree of eye/hand coordination. Soon, players are given 30 seconds to whack 35 rabbits with 10 misses permitted.
In addition to the pleasure and amusement of gameplay, Power App has added a new source of entertainment to the game. Players may substitute the picture of their choice for the rabbit, combining the healthy release of pent up aggression with the fun of Whack-a-Mole.
