I know it's sort of a strange app request but I figure I might as well see if it exists. I'm a radio hobbyist and I'm interested in recording from my police scanner. For those not in the hobby that means a lot of dead air when you're monitoring for calls and the like. What I would like (seeing as I charge my iPhone right next to it) is an app that will allow me to record from it through the microphone, but only when there's sound (ie someone talking). At other times it essentially pauses the recording so I don't have to sift through dead air when I listen to them. I know there are some standalone voice recorders that can do it so I figure there's probably an app somewhere in the app store to do it too.
If that's not possible a decent alternative would be an app that displays the waveform of the recorded audio so I know where there's activity and where there's not.
Thanks
