    Default MyWi 4.0 question

    Hi there,
I've recently purchased Myfi 4.0 via Cydia and it works like a dream when I need internet access for my 16Gb IPad (wifi only) when I'm on the move and I only have a 3G connection via my IPhone 3GS.

My mobile tariff also allows me access to various commercial wifi hotspots I.e Btopenzone or the Cloud. These hotspots only give access via subscription or comes automatically with my contracted iphone tariff.

My problem is whenever my IPhone is connected to one of the wifi hotspots Mywi switches off and therefore my IPad is left with no connection.

Is this correct or have I missed some configuration somewhere. If I had a laptop there's an option to uses a USB connection and select either 3G or Wifi bridge network selection, is there no configuration for a wifi tethered device like my IPad?

Any assistance would be most welcome.

(originally posted incorrectly in the IPad section)

what i would try is, make sure the wifi doesn't pick up those commercial hotspots your 3GS has by forgetting those networks if you're used to picking them up, I don't believe the iPad will pick up the USB connection from the phone as it was not designed to do that like a macbook or laptop would, so ultimately you're gonna have to forget those connections in order to get the iPad to pick up the wifi signal and use the 3G signal from your phone, it's either one way or the other

with my i4 and i use mywii, i have no issues with the app and my macbook either usb or wifi connected BUTTTT

what if it's a 4.2.1 glitch and mywii isn't updated for that iOS version ?

there's quite a few reasons why this could be happening

    hope this helps

The reason I use the commercial hotspots is that in most cases there is limited 3G access in that location so I do not have much choice.
Also using wifi helps reduce the 3G data usage on my mobile tariff.

You mentioned that you connect to your i4 using USB and wifi, is this whilst your i4 is picking up 3G Or wifi?
