Navigon app

I was wondering if anybody else using the Navigon USA app was having issues with the screen dimming while using. The screen dims like it is going to shut off completely then flashes to full brightness. It does this repeatedly while using. After a 5 hour drive it can become quite annoying. Any ideas or if you are having the same issue would be appreciated.

I had that happen when I used it on a trip to the in-laws this past holiday. It was annoying, especially when it gets dark outside. I don't have a fix, though. I thought maybe it had to do with my screen timeout (1 minute), but I never got around to testing that theory.

I haven't experienced this issue with mine yet. I'll give it a try and see if mine does it or not.

what do you guys think is a better navigation app tomtom or navigon? i personally think navigon is the better of the two what do you think?

I believe I read somewhere that the 1.7 update to Navigon fixes this dimming issue. I got the North America version update, but haven't tested it. The US update may not be out yet (but hopefully will be coming very shortly).

Andrew, I like both; however, I use tomtom more often as its cleaner and simpler.
