Looking for suggestions for a decent password app. What I'm most interested in is an app that will keep track of my passwords for reference purposes.

Thanks

Hi,

I have 1 Password Pro and SplashID and much prefer 1 Password Pro.

Looks to be a more secure option for those items you do want out there.

With their recent updates with the iPhone app as well as the windows beta,
I will attempt to use 1Password.

I am now using dropbox to sync my passwords between iPhone, Nexus One
and PC/Laptop.

From just the screenshots, the app looked very confusing. Have
you tried 1Password and preferred DataVault more?

I have never used 1Password. I do, however, have SplashID and eWallet. Of the 3, I much prefer DataVault.

What's up with all of this 1Password and 1Password Pro B.S.? Do they simply develop a "Pro" version and not have to support or upgrade current users? The "Pro" version is for iOS4 and the "obsolete" version is not. WTF?

Is there another password App that doesn't do this crap?

There are plenty. However, if you listen to the last iPad Live show both Rene and Chad talk about 1Password. According to them the 1Password proper will be updated.

I'm assuming that Rene and Chad are the 1Password developers? What is the difference between the Pro and the Joe Schmoe versions?

No they are not. Rene is the head honcho in charge of TiPb.com and Chad
is a blogger / app reviewer for the TiPb.com. They use the app like we
would.

Also, even if 1Password wasn't going to get the upgrade, they wouldn't be
the only developers to do this. I would happily pay for the "2nd" version
to app. The apps aren't just upgrades, a lot of them are reworked from the
ground up and a lot of work goes into these apps.

Good job Cheerleading! Do you know what the difference is between the original and the "2nd" version?

I am getting a little tired of the App store model of software. Tweaking with Pro, SuperPro, +, and Extreme versions while leaving original versions (and customers) un-supported. Also I hate when stuff I paid for becomes free and gets filled with ads, but that's another issue

Ah... just bumped back into this forum. I own 1Password Pro and switched to LastPass several months ago and haven't looked back. Versions for all browsers, serious encryption, no "syncing"

Yes, they do charge an annual fee for their mobile version (1PW does by charging for upgrades)

Try LastPass in your browser and see if you like it, then pull the trigger on the mobile version.

Also, I'm not the only one singing it's praises:

Check their web site lastpass . com and the reviews section
