+ symbol on install icon in AppStore

What does the + symbol mean that is now found on many of the apps in the AppStore?

two guesses. 1) the app is iOS 4 ready or 2) is available on iPod, iPhone and iPad devices.

Means it's a Universal App - made for both iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad
